Lutjona Lula, mentor of Anja Slemič

lutjona

I am Lutjona Lula from Tirana, 21 years old and I currently graduated at the University of Tirana, Department of Political Sciences. Starting from this September I am continuing my master studies at University of Belgrade with an emphasis on South Eastern European Studies. During this last year I have been working as a Foreign Relations Specialist at the Albanian Post. One of my biggest hobbies is learning foreign languages. In addition to English, I am fluent in French and Italian and I am currently learning German. Also, I love traveling. It is popularly said that “travel broadens the mind” and I would add to this “the spirit”. As an extroverted person, I like to socialize and exchange ideas with everybody.  Apart my professional activity I have also been very active in local NGOs and international trainings mostly focused on human rights and regional cooperation. I am very happy to be a mentor of young ambassador who will represent Albania and I will try to provide unbiased and professional information. I know it will be challenging and I am highly motivated to take part!

Why is intercultural dialogue important in general?

intercultural dialogue is important in terms of promoting tolerance. In my opinion intercultural dialogue is necessary in our region. Based on what happened in the past, we are continuously creating general stereotypes for our neighbours. I think that these obstacles and this simplifications can be prevented and decreased by using intercultural dialogue in our generation. These kinds of activities have always given the possibility to watch the “other part” differently than you were told to.
